ABOUT ME
McKenna Layne, professionally known as KENNASNAPPED, is a photographer, videographer, and creative director based in Calgary, Alberta. With a deep passion for family photography and portraiture, McKenna focuses on capturing genuine moments, emotions, and connections not just photos.
From intimate family sessions and everyday portraits to live performances, events, and travel, McKenna’s eye for detail and storytelling transforms fleeting moments into lasting memories. Every session is approached with care, creativity, and the belief that the most meaningful images are the ones that reflect real life and real love.
Beyond the lens, McKenna is the founder of The SNAP Project (coming June 2026), an initiative dedicated to giving back by providing free photoshoots to families who need it most. Through this project, McKenna aims to ensure everyone has the opportunity to preserve their memories, no matter their circumstances.

the snap project
The Snap Project is a community-funded initiative to help families memorialize their time and experiences together. As many families struggle to afford basic necessities and spend less time together as a result of these challenges, The Snap Project is away to help lessen the emotional turmoil.
This initiative provides free portrait sessions and additional resources for low income families. Funds raised for this project go towards costs to provide a free portrait session, a gift basket filled with essential items, and a large take home print for their home.
Studies show that having family photos displayed positively impact self esteem, emotional connection, and sense of belonging especially in children. The Snap Project is committed to bringing families together to create powerful memories and lessen stress caused by increasing financial struggle.
