About

Studies show that having family photos displayed positively impact self esteem, emotional connection, and sense of belonging especially in children. The Snap Project is committed to bringing families together to create powerful memories and lessen stress caused by increasing financial struggle and responsibilty.

The SNAP Project is a community funded initiative to help families memorialize their time and experiences together. As many families struggle to afford basic necessities and spend less time together as a result of these challenges, The Snap Project is a way to help lessen the emotional turmoil.

This initiative provides free portrait sessions and additional resources for low income families. Funds raised for this project go towards costs to provide a free portrait session, a gift basket filled with essential items, and a large take home print for their home.

our story

Time continues but pictures last a lifetime. In early 2024, amid the loss of my aunt I found myself looking at old family photos almost daily. The one thing that stood out most is the lack of recent photos in our archive. As the years go by, many of us get busy and it becomes harder to find the time to prioritize these precious photos while also finding affordable options. Nearly 2 years later, I continue to feel the weight of not having those family photos with her, especially recent ones.

Throughout 2024 and 2025 I have met numerous people who’s families not only face the same struggle but families going through changes, growth, loss, success, you name it. Simultaneously, I’ve found myself spending more of my energy creating family projects for friends and I have fallen in love with those experiences. The laughs shared during these sessions and the vibrance from the finished project holds an incredibly special place in my heart and thus this idea was born. I truly cannot think of a better way to give back to my community and bring people together. The Snap Project is my way of giving those families a way to memorialize their time together for years to come.
